Trendsetters Press is all about setting trends, not following them.
We are a publishing site with a heart; we’re also all writers. A house run by writers for writers and readers both. What a concept!
We are a new house in more ways than one. Our intention is to build a home where writers and readers can collaborate on providing the best writing available anywhere.
That’s right, our readers will actually be writing in a game called “Whodunit? You did.” We begin with four teams of three people each, who will write a murder mystery over three days. The teams are open to writers and readers. The winning story will be published in TSP Tales with all three team members as authors. Voila… a story written by TSP readers. New mousetrap!
Another contest to look out for will be the StoryForge. Everyone will be given a set of story elements and a genre. You will have a couple of weeks to craft your story and it must include the elements provided and any others you come up with. We will select 10-15 of the best stories and publish them.
Our Culture
Here at TSP, we’ve already built a tight family at the core of the company. Our intention is to expand that family to include new writers and readers, built into one large, friendly, funny community. You’ll not find nasty comments anywhere although you may see several to the point comments that writers leave for other writers. The main thing is that we are all one large family!
Where We're Headed
Back to the NYT Best Seller list, of course. With the help of a community like this one, talented writers can get the feedback and tools they need to reach that goal. We’re building one to do exactly that. It’s difficult for writers to find a safe place to post their pieces without getting torn to pieces. Not to mention a spot where readers can also comment on stories and provide valuable feedback.
For writers, we provide a Writer’s Forum where they can upload their stories to get feedback from other writers and editors. I happen to know both a publisher and an editor in chief who will be reading it with an eye towards purchasing stories for publication.
We intend to be the first site you open in the morning: to read publishing news, see if your favorite authors have written new pieces, check up on comments others have left and to leave your own. And of course just to hang out in the TSP Cafe Forum and interact with readers and writers.
Welcome aboard… we’re so glad to have you!
Our Executive Publisher
Trish Reavis
Imagine Scarlett O’Hara with a .38 on her hip, one without lead bullets! Who needs real bullets when you have a brain sharp enough to sling insults with the best of them?
Born with a book in her tiny hand, Trish has always been an avid reader and editor. When younger, she used to edit the signs on the side of the road as her family took one of their frequent trips. Not to mention the cereal boxes. “Mom! This word isn’t right!” Must have been fun to raise that one.
Trish is one of the best humans I know. I’ve been in the writing business for nearly 40 years, and I have never found a publisher like this one. (See my bio below.) She is so kind that I wasn’t sure she was for real until several months had passed.
I learned several facts about the lady:
- She does what she says she will
- She is 100 percent trustworthy
- She really cares about her authors as people she’s eager to see succeed. Simply unbelievable for a publisher, but not this one.
Now I’m her biggest pain in the ass- and as you know, a pain in the ass Is there for good!
Our Editor-in-Chief
Cat LeDévic
I’m Cat LeDévic, and I wear more hats than a French hooker. Pro author, website design and implementation, database creation, various apps from editing through task management, editing itself, and a fairly well known writer under any pen name but my own.
When my first novel got snapped up by a publisher, I was in heaven. Well, partially as my father was mortally ill. My proud father was determinately at my first signing in a wheelchair with his oxygen.
But two weeks later he was gone to my eternal grief. And that publisher? She was enraged that I could not go to any further signings. That was nearly 30 years ago, and ever since I’ve been Casper the ghost writer.
Usually available on UpWork.com, I received many invitations daily for everything from romance and thrillers to bios. And if I happen to see that the boss is a publisher I don’t even respond! Until one day I met a lady who wanted a romance, not my favorite genre. But I heard she’d been ripped off by an unscrupulous writer, and I had to do something. I couldn’t let this woman leave such a bad taste in that client’s mouth, so I took the gig.
And discovered that she was a publisher! My reaction? 0h hell. We’ve been together ever since, and it’s one of the better decisions I’ve made in my life.
