Abilene Rose, Mystery Author

Abilene Rose grew up on a cattle ranch in west Texas, where long days in the dusty flats fostered a curiosity for mysteries under the endless skies. By the time she was a teenager, Abilene was a champion barrel racer, flying at breakneck speeds around barrels at local rodeos with horse, hat, and hair flying.

She keeps horses on her cozy ranch and rides the range when she’s not spinning tales of intrigue scratched into notebooks next to the campfire under a blanket of stars. Her loyal Australian Shepherd Bandit is always by her boots as she weaves stories inspired by a childhood love of Murder She Wrote, Unsolved Mysteries and In the Heat of the Night.

Abilene has a knack for creating colorful, offbeat characters that bring small-town America to life. Her keen eye for detail and sharp wit infuses her mysteries with authentic, local flavor. Each of her sleuthing books immerses readers in richly imagined communities, where every quirky resident has a secret and even the most picturesque streets may hide sinister clues. Although she now lives on a small ranch with her husband, two kids and an assortment of animals, Abilene holds the cherished memories of her youth spent on the back of horses, racing full tilt after dreams and danger.
